POWER GIS

Posted in Interaction, Interface

Nascent Info Technologies approached Emotome to design a single, task integrated dashboard for their GIS based product, aimed at various power transmission and distributions organisations. I based the solution on research of everyday processes and operations at the power companies. It revealed the requirement for a clean, multi technology and touch points enabled application.

The primary operations of the customer organization were mapped with the end users who would be interacting with the dashboards. The visualisations and controls were quite graphic and allowed users to make quick but informed decisions through the use of intuitive notification systems, animations and behaviour of the UI.

Workflows and various data sets were designed keeping user group specific context in mind. The workflows were then tested through multiple iterations and UI evaluation to ensure that key information and features of the system are always apparent to the end users. A future way forward for the dashboard data was strategised as well.
