IRC 67 : 2010

Posted in Maps & Signs

This project was part of the work done for revising the Indian Road Congress’ Road sign manual, IRC67. The manual, not updated since 1967, had several discrepancies. The pictograms, especially, were blatant copies of the ones used in UK road signs. The pictograms or the artwork which were to be used in the cautionary, informatory and mandatory road signs were tweaked and redrawn to make them distinct and clean while conveying the information with ease.

The typographic layouts, typeface specifications and colours were also standardized. The final revised version, IRC67:2010 was published in 2010 and is currently used as a nationwide reference for road signs.
